Health & Safety Policy

PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Computertel Limited's policy regarding Health & Safety is to ensure that all employees of Computertel are protected whilst in the work place and that the risk of injury or harm to them is reduced, as indicated in the Health and Safety at Work Act.

In order to ensure that we adhere to the above policy statement, it is Computertel Limited's intention to regularly carry out risk assessments of their premises.  The first study took place on 5th January 1998 and will be re-assessed at 12 monthly intervals, from this date onwards.  A statement of conformity following this assessment is then issued.  Copies of the statements and any subsequent reports on findings are filed under Health and Safety information.

Computertel Limited also encourage co-operation and communication from their employees with regards to any factors that they feel do not meet the above policy statement and/or suggestions on how Computertel can improve current health and safety issues.  Any questions, opinions or suggestions can be discussed with the employee's manager or the office co-ordinator, who will bring all points raised or suggestions given, to the attention of the Directors of Computertel.

It is Computertel's policy to carry out the strictest discipline to any employee that is seen to be placing themselves or any other person in danger of injury or harm, or carrying out acts that can be seen to be increasing the risk of injury or harm.  We also implement disciplinary hearings and subsequent actions that may be found necessary, following the proper guidelines under employment law, for employees found to be carrying out serious offences of neglect or endangerment to themselves or others.   In order to reduce the possibility of any employee from carrying out any acts mentioned above, Computertel Limited educate their employees in safe practices and offer them in-house training.

Computertel Limited is aware of the hazard of smoking and for this purpose the building is completely non-smoking and signs have been put up to indicate this.

Fire procedure notices have been put up on both floors of the office buildings to ensure that all employees and visitors are aware of  procedures in the event of a fire.  We also operate a visitors book and employee location table, in order to identify the number of people within the premises at all times. Computertel Limited also have a selection of fire extinguishers, located on both floors, which are annually checked and smoke alarms located throughout the building.

With regards to First Aid Procedure, Computertel have a wall mounted First Aid Box situated within the building.  An accident report book is also completed, if  any accidents occur within the premises.  Our policy also includes an appointed employee to be placed on a First Aid at Work course, organised by St Johns Ambulance.  The appointed employee is also encouraged to attend a refresher course, when applicable.
